SMALL/MEDIUM SIZE FINISHED PRODUCTS

In the machining of small and medium-sized parts selection of the most suitable tool depends on the hardness and the elasticity modulus of the specific Technical Composite Laminate to be processed, as well as on the type of filler that the Laminate contains.

For all machining performed with stringent requirements of dimensional tolerance and finish (e.g. vanes for small/medium motors and pneumatic tools), KONRAD TECNO s.r.l. only utilises tools in integral polycrystalline (diamond) which, in addition to ensuring meticulous compliance with tolerance and finishing specifications, do not cause overheating of the Laminate surfaces.

For regular customers of small precision parts, KONRAD TECNO s.r.l. uses solely high quality and high performance dedicated cutting edges. In other words, KONRAD TECNO s.r.l. keeps a stock of tools reserved specifically for machining the FINISHED PRODUCTS of individual customers. This practice means that cutting edges designed for carrying out specific customised finishing according to the customer’s drawing are ready at all times, while also ensuring maximum comparability of parts produced at different times.

To sum up, for the CNC machining of small and medium size serial parts, the customer has a stock of tools at KONRAD TECNO s.r.l., which is used exclusively for the production of their parts. The operating conditions of such tools are checked repeatedly, during and at the end of each machining cycle, so that “tired” cutting edges can be replaced in real time.

We must also consider that the rotational speed and feed rate of the tool must be set to values that allow the best machining of surfaces, holes, slots and edge profiles in general of the FINISHED PRODUCT and avoid damaging the structure of the Technical Composite Laminate.
Best machining quality has been achieved when optical examination at high magnification shows perfectly smooth machined surfaces with minimum roughness and without protrusions of filler.

All machined flat surfaces are finely ground on the Numerical Control Grinder with selected grinding wheels to achieve a particularly smooth surface with negligible roughness.
